Core Values
There is ONE way to our Father, but there are MANY ways to share Him.
We will be innovative, creative, and intentional in communicating the timeless message of Christ. It is through our union with Christ that we know, we are reconciled to, and we live our lives for God. Therefore, our ministry philosophy, biblical interpretation, preaching, and community impact efforts are all centered on the person and work of Jesus. John 14:6 says Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
People far from God matter to God and, therefore, they matter to us.
Relationships are absolutely key! Genuine love and acceptance results in relationships that lead to soul transformations. Our focus will always be on those who have yet to accept Christ. Matthew 18:11 says “The Son of Man came to save what was lost.”
The young adult audience is vitally important to the Kingdom and we will meet them in the context of the culture they live in.
We will recognize and target young adults in the way we structure and carry out our worship experiences, ministries, and outreach.
Excellence honors God and inspires people.
Every circumstance in life is an opportunity to become more or less like Jesus. By the help of the Holy Spirit, we labor to conform to the excellent character of Christ. (Jn 14:26; Rom 8:26-29; 12:2; 1 Cor 9:27; Eph 4:20-24; 1 Jn 2:1-6)
God wants to touch people right where they are, not where we think they need to be.
We don’t expect or believe that someone has to “have it all together” to be in worship, to accept Christ, to join a community group, or to volunteer and serve.
Relevant teaching is critically important.
Matthew 13:34 says “Jesus always used stories and illustrations when speaking to the crowds. In fact, he never spoke to them without using such parables.” Jesus took deep theological concepts and made them easy to understand for the least religious person there was. There is no better example of how to share the good news of Jesus than to look at the words Jesus used.
A casual and welcoming atmosphere is essential.
In dress, in style of worship, in community groups, and in community outreach people should always be made to feel comfortable and accepted.
